A yurt is a circular structure with a wooden lattice frame, a domed roof and a fabric or canvas cover, traditionally used by nomadic herders in Central Asia. Glamping yurts keep that round shape, often with a skylight at the top, and fit it out for comfort with real beds, timber floors and lighting.
Many yurts sit on raised timber decks in bushland, vineyards, olive groves and farmland. The round shape makes the inside feel open and bright. Some are single-yurt stays while others are small clusters, so check each listing to see what is included before you book.
