Glamping tents in Australia

About glamping tents

Glamping tents cover a wide range, from canvas bell tents and safari-style tents on raised decks to larger lodge tents with their own ensuites. Unlike regular camping, they usually come set up and furnished, so you arrive, unpack and settle in. Many sit on a timber platform with a bed, rugs, lighting and outdoor seating.

What to expect

You will find tent stays in bushland, on farms, beside beaches, rivers and lakes, and in holiday parks. Beds and bedding are normally supplied. Power, heating, bathrooms and kitchens differ from one property to the next, so check what each listing includes before you book.

Worth checking before you book

• Heating and cooling, and how the tent copes with hot days or cold nights
• Bathroom set-up: a private ensuite or shared amenities nearby
• Cooking options: a kitchen, a camp kitchen or a barbecue
• Pet and children policies, which differ from host to host
• Weather and fire ban policies, as canvas stays can be affected by extreme conditions
