Glamping pods and domes in Australia

About glamping pods and domes

Pods and domes are contemporary glamping shelters. Geodesic domes have a rounded frame covered in fabric or panels, often with large windows or a clear section for stargazing, while pods are compact, purpose-built cabins with a sleek design. Both keep the weather out and are often fitted out with a proper bed and power.

What to expect

Many pods and domes sit on private land with a deck and a view, and some come with a hot tub, fire pit or outdoor bath. Layouts are open plan, so bathrooms may be a private ensuite or a shared building close by. Check each listing to see what is included before you book.

Worth checking before you book

• Views and stargazing features, such as skylights, clear panels or large windows
• Heating and cooling, especially in winter and peak summer
• Bathroom set-up: a private ensuite or shared amenities nearby
• Extras such as a hot tub, outdoor bath or fire pit, and whether they cost extra
• Pet and children policies, which differ from host to host
