First it’s important to introduce glamping, which is simply is an upgraded, luxury form of camping that has become increasingly popular in recent years. Glamping offers all of the fun and excitement of traditional camping, but with added comfort and luxury.
Why Festival Glamping is a Game-Changer
There are many reasons why festival glamping is a huge upgrade from regular camping for festivals. Here are just a few of the benefits:
Glamping is much more comfortable than camping. Australia is home to some great multi-day festivals and for most people this means back-to-back days of dancing, partying and missing sleep. For the downtime you do have, this makes it even more important to be comfortable, and glamping is always going to be a lot more comfortable than camping. After all, would you rather wake up hungover and sleep-deprived in a boiling hot canvas tent, or a comfortable glamping tent?
Glamping often comes with dedicated spaces & facilities. If you’ve ever been to a big multi-day festival you know the pain of hiking to the toilets and waiting for a shower from your campsite. Lots of festival glamping experiences feature a private area for glampers / paid campers. Of course, you still share this with others, but this often means better and cleaner facilities, less waiting and less walking to get to them. Some festivals even include kitchen facilities like tables, chairs, and coffee / tea making gear.
Glamping means no camping setup or packup. This is a huge one! Setting up your tent and camping area at a festival can be painful, and means you’ll need to have a good quality tent, have the car space to get it to the festival, and then go through the process of setting up… which can be anything from a minor inconvenience up to a complete disaster. Then at the end of the festival you will have to pack up, which is pretty much the last thing you want to do after a multi-day festival… especially if it’s wet and muddy.
Glamping means more time enjoying the festival. You’ve paid good money for your tickets, and there is heaps on you want to see and do. Staying at festival glamping can usually mean you can spend more time enjoying the festival, often your glamping tent will be closer to the action which means less walking back and forth. Being in a more comfortable glamping tent also can mean better sleep, which means you’ve got more energy for dancing and embracing the festival.
One final thing to say here… while we certainly think festival glamping is something you should experience at least once, there is also a lot to say for regular old camping at a festival. There is something extremely fun and immersive about normal festival camping that you should also experience at least once. Our suggestion? Try both if you can, but definitely try regular camping first – you’ll have a much greater appreciation for some of the niceties and benefits of festival glamping.
