8 Fabulous Glamping Wedding Venues in Australia

Are you looking for a unique wedding venue that will wow your guests? If so, why not looking at glamping wedding venues! Glamping is a newish trend in the world of weddings, and it’s becoming more and more popular. There are many amazing glamping friendly venues all over Australia, and we’ve compiled a list of six of the best! Keep reading to learn more about each one.

Why glamping is becoming so popular for weddings

Glamping is simply camping in luxury, and is increasing in popularity in Australia and around the world, due to the perfect combination and balance between nature, camping and luxury. Glamping is becoming more and more popular for weddings because it offers couples several benefits that can make your wedding a really unique and memorable experience, that can set it apart from from traditional weddings.

Benefits of choosing a glamping wedding venue

There are many great reasons to consider glamping wedding venues if you’re getting married. First of all, glamping venues are often stunningly beautiful, with amazing locations that offer breathtaking views. While there are no doubt a staggering amount of amazing places you can hold a wedding around the country, glamping truly can be one of the best ways to experience these locations in a more immersive and connected way that can really give you a new appreciation for the scenery and surroundings.

Another main reason that glamping is becoming more popular for weddings is that it offers something quite unique, that you and the guests will remember. The average person will go to many weddings in their lifetime, and lets face it… most are very similar! If you think back, the weddings you remember are the ones that are a bit more unique, and had an interesting location, theme or style of wedding.

One of my most memorable weddings I’ll remember forever took place in a former monastery along the Great Ocean Road in Melbourne. This location was really unique, and between with the beautiful style of the wedding, the great friends and the unique location, it was a truly incredible wedding that I’m sure all guests will remember and look back on fondly.

Glamping wedding venues can also potentially be more cost effective than hiring out comparable rooms in a resort or hotel. For most glamping wedding providers, you can also be sure that there will be no compromise on comfort or luxury, so you can be sure you and your guests will be comfortable and sleep well after your big celebration, barefoot dancing and a couple of champagnes.

The final reason to consider glamping wedding venues is for holding a more eco-friendly event that is more sustainable and considerate of the environment. This is increasingly important for people, and in almost any scenario glamping wedding accommodation will have a significantly lower impact on the environment and local area. If having a more natural themed and styled wedding is something you value, then a glamping wedding can be a great option

How to choose the right glamping wedding venue

So you’ve decided you want a wedding venue that features glamping accommodation… How do you now choose the right venue? You can either find an existing wedding venue that offers glamping accommodation, or you can use one of the several glamping hire services to work with a venue that will allow it.

Either way, the location of your wedding is going to be the main factor here in what options you have available. We’ve got you covered, and have put together a list of both on-site glamping wedding venues, as well as a range of hire businesses you can use at pretty much any venue that will permit these style businesses to setup.

Under the Moon (Gippsland, VIC)

Under the Moon are based in Gippsland, Victoria and offer elopement and wedding packages at a beautiful location nestled in the mountains. One thing that really sets Under the Moon apart from some other glamping wedding venues  is that it’s an all-inclusive service, so literally everything you need is supplied, which makes for a super easy and no-fuss wedding. From their website… “All you need to do is roll in on the day at the location, with your lover, friends and family”.

Under the Moon can cater for up to 80 guests. Be sure to check out the website for videos and images from recent weddings.

Paperbark Camp (Jervis Bay, NSW)

Paperbark Camp is a tented bush camp near the beautiful beaches of Jervis Bay, and offers safari tent based camping in a quiet and relaxing bush environment. The camp is perfect for weddings, and if you’re getting married in New South Wales, can be private, intimate and unique spot to host the wedding of your dreams. Couples can choose from a ceremony on the pristine beach, or opt to be surrounded by trees closer to the camp.

Setup perfectly for weddings, the venue features multiple locations you can choose from for your wedding ceremony. Barunah Plains had multiple accommodation options including the Homestead, Shearers Quarters and on-site Glamping.

One thing that really sets this apart from other glamping wedding venues is flexibility. Brarunah Plains is private property, and as such can be a lot more flexible on curfews and available options, without the restrictions some other venues impose.

Barunah Plains can cater for large groups, for both the ceremony and accommodation, catering for 180-300+ ceremony guests and almost unlimited number of accommodation guests with glamping (though you’ll need to organise glamping tents with another hire business). Glamping wedding tent hire

If you’re looking for glamping wedding venues, another key thing to consider is that there are many great glamping tent hire businesses around Australia that will provide the tents, equipment and setup & packup for weddings. This really opens up the possibilities for a glamping wedding, because there are are a huge amount of wedding venues that have ample space and allow these glamping hire businesses to setup on the property.

This means that if you can find a glamping hire business that is near you (sometimes even just in the same state!), and the right venue with enough space, you can use these businesses, and potentially get a more cost effective and customised setup.

Yes, this option will always be a bit more DIY then finding a venue which has their own glamping setup and tents available… but you will find lots of these businesses offer an all-inclusive setup, and have add ons available for things your glamping accommodation will need like bedding, furniture, lighting etc.

If you’re interested in going this route, we’ve put together a list of glamping tent hire companies below. Make sure you find the right venue first that will permit a hire company, and it is also worthwhile checking with the venue if they have a preferred supplier – they might have a recommendation for a business that already knows the venue, which can mean less worry about transport, logistics and the final setup of the glamping tents. Likewise, it’s worth checking with the glamping hire businesses on their recommendations for glamping wedding venues! They can likely provide some popular spots they know work well and are easily accessible.
